Introduction Whitireia New Zealand, and Wellington Institute of Technology are two government funded institutes in New Zealand. WelTec is one of New Zealand’s oldest tertiary education institutions and the second-oldest in Wellington since 1904 which has three campuses located in Petone, Porirua and Wellington. It trains around 6,100 students every year. It offer a range of industry-led qualifications from trades through to degrees and postgraduate programmes that are future-focused, developed alongside industry and provide students with practical skills. Whitireia New Zealand, 1986, is a wholly-owned Crown entity subsidiary company of NZIST, known for its high student success rates and culturally diverse student body. More than 4,900 students enroll in this institute every year in different courses. It has campuses in Porirua, Wellington, and Auckland. It offers a range of programme at certificate, diploma, degree, postgraduate and Master’s levels and its programmes have been developed in conjunction with industry to offer excellent applied qualifications. Whitireia is a Category 1 institution rated by NZQA for educational performance and capability in self-assessment.
